With the approval of the relevant vice president, Management Personnel Plan employees may be paid for assuming additional University assignments. The additional employment must be separate and distinct from -- and must not have a negative impact on -- the employee's primary work assignment. Consistent with this policy, management employees may be paid for classroom and/or other instructional activities. Academic administrators are not eligible for additional remuneration from such teaching duties. Occasional lectures or guest presentations do not qualify for extra pay. All additional employment opportunities provided under this policy must be consistent with the Fair Labor Standards Act which governs overtime activities.
